Looking for the right web design assistance. I work for a small corporation and have been drafted by default to sort out our website redesign in a hurry, since someone left the company unexpectedly. I’m used to picking up tasks and running with them, but this one has me stumped because I don’t feel comfortable with computer-based tasks—ok, not computers but the Internet. I guess I don’t understand how it works, especially SEO and Facebook and social marketing, and I am afraid I will make the wrong decisions about this new web design, costing the company money.
Are there any web design professionals out there who specialize in small startup businesses with tiny budgets? I long to let the world know what we’re doing—and we really need to increase our sales. I don’t think we need to much more than a basic presence to attract wholesalers right now, but perhaps an ecommerce site would make sense a little farther down the line, once our product becomes known and liked. Somehow, most of the designers I’ve met do not seem to have the right idea. They all want to sell me a really complicated web design with flash.
The more I read about web design, the more help I feel I need. First of all, which is the best content management system or website program to use? Joomla sounds good, but I don’t know anything about PHP. So then I took a look at Microsoft Frontpage—looks Ok but hard to know without spending a lot of time on it how to produce something other than a very basic website. There there is WordPress, but again, I just don’t think I have enough knowledge to customize it and get the result that I need. I have reached the conclusion that I need to consult a professional about my web design for good results.
web design—where to start? I paid a top designer top money to design my ecommerce site just two years ago. It looks very good, works well (although it would be great if I could do all of the updates myself—hate having someone else inserted into that process who doesn’t always understand how I think). Sounds good overall, but the reality is that sales have been very, very low. So has the number of visitors. I really think that despite its good looks, the main problem is that our target audience can’t find us because the web design doesn’t include good SEO.
Have been looking for web design that really reflects my company and what we are all about. For me, this means the site must be open and easily accessible and understood by visitors. We want to draw them in and keep them there with features they can explore without really realizing that time is passing. Ultimately, we want them to love us so much that they don’t want to leave us, and that’s when we make a sale. I know that is asking a lot of a designer or developer, but that is really what I am looking for in a web design for my company.
I wonder if there is a web design creator out there who can make just the kind of site I have in mind. Something simple to use and maintain—don’t want to hire a new staff member just to do this. That is too expensive and one more person to manage when I need to be out breaking new ground for the company. Also, something I can understand easily without having to consult a manual everytime I want to make a change to the content. So I guess the content management system is one of the things that is most important to the web design I ultimately will choose.
For a top-quality web design for my business, where can I go? I have little time to devote to interviewing more designers, most of whom seem to expect to make a year’s wages by designing my one site. I also don’t feel I have gotten the best advice about features that will work well for my business: contact forms, email newsletters, social marketing and all the up-to-the-minute techniques for finding and reeling in new customers. Also keeping in touch and ultimately keeping them as customers. This is a very important requirement. I would really like to find someone who is up to the challenge of creating my web design.
