Baneng Beach Retreat is located on an idyllic, remote equatorial island. The palm-fringed bay is surrounded by white sandy beaches, filled with crystal clear water and perfect waves breaking on the reefs. This relaxing jungle retreat is right on the beach in a large picturesque bay. The complex is a large \"A-Frame\" double storey open-plan house spaciously designed with high ceilings and large screened windows to keep the house cool and comfortable. The interior is decorated with Rotan and bamboo furniture and finished off in natural local woodwork. Complete with Western-Style bathroom, toilets and spacious kitchen to allow our chef to create fine food. We accommodate six guests dormitory style on the top level, and have two private double rooms on the lower level for couples. Our chef creates great food, and the menu is based on a high energy diet to give you strength for the day\'s activities. We prepare plenty of seafood dishes using traditional Indonesian and Thai methods. We also prepare tasty vegetarian dishes and use organic produce.

The Simeulue and Banyak Island chain is situated off Sumatra\'s West coast, just north of the equator. Large ocean swells generated by storms off Antarctica travel across the Indian Ocean and break on the many reefs surrounding the resort. There are many islands with perfect surfing waves, fishing and snorkeling just a short boat ride away. The Island has plenty of nice beaches to relax on and explore. With close proximity to Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, Simeulue Island is an easy destination to get to, for a relaxing holiday.
