Saunton Sands is a traditional British hotel, with a great view over the beach. The food is good and there is wifi to rent if you need to work. The best part of it is it's location - you can get in your wetsuit in the hotel room, and then walk 3 minutes down to the beach. And the beach is a longboarder's dream - long, mellow rides, especially on pushing tide. It's a little bit pricey though.
