We were with three guys in Consolaçao, near Peniche. We went for 2 weeks and had only one day with no surf. Consolaçao's a 10min. walk away to Supertubos, a wicked left beachbreak, but at 200mtrs from our apartment (with pool!) was a right reefbreak that we could surf practically everyday. A really laidback cruisy wave. Many days we would be the only surfers there. 10 mins. to the other side is another great right reefbreak; Porto Batel. This one was a bit more shallow, but also a bit more crowded. If you have a car, there's a gazillion surfable spots within 50mins north or south. This must be one of the most consistant areas in Europe, and beer is only 60cents. It;s a small town, but in the summer there's all kind of local summerfestivities in the surrounding towns, which really give you a great introduction to Portugese culture. The people from Tribo do Mar gave us tips and took us to some places as well. Also Lisbon is only an hour away by car, but we had too much surf to be able to make it there...
