Just got this email - let me know if you want to get in touch with Zoe!
“Hey my name is Zoe and me and 2 friends are looking for an allround job at a surfcamp. We don’t mind where or what kind of work. We just really love the sea and ’surfing atmosfere’. We have spend the past 4 years on surftrips and beaches all over the world.
I hope someone can use a very enthusiastic staff member!
Kind regards,
Zoe x”

I’ve contacted about 20 different surf camp owners around the world who are members on Glissers, and asked them for their favorite longboard wave in their country. I’m adding all the waves to a specific page on Glissers - Best Longboard Waves in the World, which I think will be very useful for longboarders like myself. It’s not finished yet - so far only 2 listings - but will keep on adding as they come in.
I also have a secret plan to visit them all, of course…

We were about to go to the Lake District in the UK for the weekend. But then we realized that the forecast is for snow (!) and that the traffic would make the journey time close to 10 hours. One way…
So instead we’re now heading to Lanzarote for 3-4 days of windsurfing, surfing, tennis, tapas, wine, and book reading.
Nice!

I’ve injured my back, so at the moment I can’t surf, and haven’t been able to since September. But I think I’ve found an alternative - stand up paddle surf. Since you don’t have to paddle lying down, I think this solution might be easier on the back. Another good thing is that you don’t need very impressive swells to do this, which means that Brighton might actually become a real surfing destination…

I did a press release last week around home exchange feature on Glissers, and the response has been great. I’ve had articles written in a few publications, such as SurfersVillage, and people from all over the place adding their home to the site. I’m not surprised that surfers from Biarritz or New Zealand like the idea, but more interesting is the guys from for example Amsterdam and Israel (!).
I can see a few interesting trips coming up over the next year…

I wrote earlier about the idea, and that we were building the feature. Now it’s done. There’s no homes there to swap yet, except my own, but I’m working on it.
