Cabins for 1 to 3 people with and without private bathroom, right on the beach, best surf spot in Mal Pais at Playa Santa Teresa. Don´t remember how much it cost, but it was cheap, simple and friendly. Camping in front of the cabins is just a couple of bucks a night.

Small cabañas right in front of the break La Punta, the point at the eastern tip of Playa Zicatela, Puerto Escondido. If you´re in a backpacking mood, it´s quite ok, otherwise you´ll find it a bit shabby. But location and staff is super. It is a fun left point break that can be exceptional when the swell is up. Smaller days provide good, cruising, slower waves excellent for longboarding. The sheltered beach break inside of La Punta is also an excellent spot to learn to surf when it's smaller (lessons and equipment available).

Stayed at Hotel Angela which is on the water in a quieter part of town. It's very clean and comfortable, and the employees are efficient and friendly. A great breakfast is offered in the price of the room, which is quite expensive. The owner, Claudio, is a real delight and generous gentleman with lots of stories to tell.
